Church in Okocim
In 1888 Okocim acquired its own parish church through the efforts of Jan Goetz, founder of the brewery in Okocim. First the local school was built through his generosity, then the church which serves the parish today. The church was built in the years 1884-1885 and based on a design of the Cieszyn-Viennese architect Max Szweda. It is a Neo-Gothic building incorporating some of the architectural form and design found in the great cathedrals of Germany and France. It was built entirely with carefully worked white sandstone blocks on the plan of the Latin cross. The Church, from the beginning, was intended to serve as the Goetz family mausoleum. Inside the church, in the chapel, there are epitaphs to the memory of Jan Ewangelista Goetz Okocimski, made in Neo-Renaissance style, and to the memory of Jan Albin Goetz II, located on the west wall of the chapel, that commemorate the successor to the famous founder of the brewery.
